About Desert Dune

Adam Lee (known as Desert Dune) was one of three correspondents who assisted Steve with updating the Badwater or Bust blog in 2009, while Steve was pedaling to and through Death Valley National Park on his ICE Q tricycle. Adam continues to fill in now and then as necessary while Steve is out exploring. https://badwater.wordpress.com/

The link you have provided is no good. I suggest changing it to this one: http://www.odysseytrikes.com/home

  2. trike hobo says:

    Thanks Steve. Consider it done!

  3. Drew says:

This is nothing more than a KMX trike with a motor and huge battery pack. It has already been done before by Outrider with the Alpha trike. That trike at least was done better than shoving a bunch of batteries under the seat and raising the seat 4 inches. Their price is outrageous too, especially if you want the full spec. $12,199!

  4. armadillozack says:

It is a knock off of the Outrider USA, Alpha, and Horizon, E-trikes exactly to the frame motor everything, and I’m sure the are receiving soon a cease, and desist, notice from the attorney of Outrider USA real soon…!

  5. Neil says:

It may look similar to the Outrider, but as I see, the Odyssey actually claims longer ranges, and the math works out. I, for one, want to see these young guys be successful and I think they have something here if they’re doing it better than their competitors.

  6. Neil says:

I looked into these odyssey trikes more and they have units that have the same range as outrider’s 420 ($16,985!) for $9,500, and these things are supposed to go faster. Drew, what are your thoughts on that? The full spec trike has a 300 mile range and a 65 mph top speed, so… I’d personally go with the Odyssey and leave the Outrider in my dust, and forget about paying an outrageous $17k for an inferior trike.

  7. Aaron says:

Pshh I agree with Neil. Outrider’s best trike is 4 kWh and Odyssey blows past that with up to 7.1 kWh. Thats a serious battery. And that trike is several thousands cheeper. get off these guys backs and realise they’re doing it better for cheeper
