  1. I noticed that he was always riding with the chain on the largest rear cog and the rear derailleur could not handle the chain. The derailleur was pivoted back so far that the chain was riding against itself constantly. That’s not good.

    Wouldn’t that derailleur position indicate being on both the smallest cog and smallest chainring? Maybe the video editing didn’t reflect what what going on in every scene.
