Ja Yoe temporarily detained – Scorpion and trailer damaged

Matt Galat, piloting his trike around Earth, has suffered a setback. A truck driver drove into Matt’s trike trailer, which then pushed Matt and his trike off to the side, heavily damaging the Scorpion, destroying the trailer, and breaking Matt’s left collarbone and injuring his shoulder. Recovery from surgery may take up to six months. Anny came and took him back to Ningbo, where he is hospitalized. The Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires on the Scorpion are still holding air. Video describing this incident is currently available on Matt’s Ja Yoe Facebook page:

  1. intrepidjane says:

Oh my goodness! I hope enjoys a speedy recovery!

  2. Jerry Forster says:

Glad to hear He’s alive. There are people that will say it was what he should have expected trying to ride a trike around the world, but a person can fall in the shower and have worse accidents. Life is a risk at best. Why not enjoy the ride instead of putting yourself in a bubble. Ja Yoe everyone!

  3. May the recovery be a fast one. And may the repairs taken care of with ease. And may your support be strong as you go on.
