Wild Child fully loaded and ready for overland journey

Yep, it has all finally coalesced into my ultimate dream trike and cargo paradigm, a true lightning bolt speed machine destined to allow its organic engine to really enjoy the ride like never before! Catrike 700s make outstanding platforms for overland journeys when riders know how to pack light for fast and easy travel. The 25 degree seat angle is unbeatable for the laid-back trip as the miles fly by under dependable Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires! I have broken all the sacred rules surrounding the iconic Catrike 700, and instead of turning it into a slugglish Frankenstein monster, it has become a sleek and efficient long haul trike that begs to be ridden hard for days on end. New info appears HERE at the bottom of the page.

Wild child 82This Catrike 700, viewed here with my full compliment of touring cargo already loaded (including water), can be easily lifted and comfortably held, moved around, or placed in a truck bed. It will be a joy to pedal on future overland journeys compared to what I have experienced prior. I estimate the trike’s weight, as pictured above, to be about 75 pounds.

Wild child 83By the way, thanks are in order for Steven Telck, the Wyoming Wildman, and rider of an ICE Adventure, for creating this comfy hooded sweatshirt for the coastal trike hobo! Visit his Trike Asylum page HERE.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s Wild Child with a Hobo at the helm. Good luck and God speed my friend.

  2. Leaving first thing in the morning Jerry – thanks for the well wishes! I think my speed will come from a natural source though, one with a white frame and three wheels. Talk at ya’ later …
