Loon Lake Triker’s Getaway

On the 2011 Coast to Cactus Tricycle Expedition, Gary, Glen, and I pedaled past the small rural road that leads to Loon Lake, which is several miles east of the Oregon town of Reedsport. A couple of sisters touring on standard diamond frame bicycles took the 7 mile side road up to the lake to spend the night. We three guys stayed on Highway 38, not looking to add an additional 14 mile roundtrip to our already planned route of 980 miles. Well, if you wish to see where the two sisters spent the night, here’s the chance. Now, I bet Gary and Glen will wish we would have just pedaled up to this mountain lake and abandoned our overland trek – it’s a heaven on Earth.
