Want to trike a 35 mile loop around a mega sized caldera that formed when a super volcano erupted and then collapsed into itself roughly 7,000 years ago? Well, your super destination then is in the Oregon Cascade Range, at Crater Lake National Park. The CCTE will be riding through this wonderland in just a matter of days from now, and I just returned today from a 5-day hiking and camping expedition there, getting in some high quality wild time, while also doing some last minute reconnaissance on the trike route from the central coast to the national park’s main campground (Mazama, which was also the name of the volcano prior to its demise).
For those who follow my wilderness jaunts, a new page just went up on the Wild Steve website, loaded with about 80 photos of my latest trek to this magical place. Click HERE to go there. Or, click HERE to go to the main link page for photographs of my other outings.
